5-Day Gorilla, Golden Monkey and Volcanoes Hikes Tour
This immersive 5-day safari offers a unique blend of adventure and nature—experience Kigali’s cultural heartbeat, encounter gorillas and golden monkeys in the wild, and conquer the summit of Mount Karisimbi.
Upon arrival in Kigali, our representative will warmly welcome you and guide you through a city tour. Visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, explore local markets, and discover Rwandan crafts. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before heading to Volcanoes National Park. Check into your lodge and relax.
After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a detailed gorilla trekking briefing. Venture into the rainforest with your guide and spend up to an hour observing a gorilla family in their natural habitat. Return to the lodge for lunch and enjoy a relaxing afternoon.
Begin your day with a golden monkey trek. Observe these lively primates and their golden coats for up to an hour. After lunch at the lodge, spend the afternoon preparing for your two-day Karisimbi hike—gathering your gear and resting for the trek ahead.
Begin the first leg of your Mount Karisimbi hike early in the morning. Hike through diverse terrain including bamboo forests and alpine zones. Set up camp at the base and enjoy dinner under the stars as you prepare for your summit attempt the next day.
After breakfast, continue to the summit of Mount Karisimbi for stunning views over the Virunga range. Begin your descent, returning to the base in the early afternoon. After a brief lodge stop to freshen up, transfer back to Kigali. Depending on your departure time, enjoy some final city sightseeing or shopping before your airport transfer.
